Restaurants TarifaEating out in Tarifa is a really special Andalucian experience. With its mix of traditional restaurants, tapas bars, as well as its many cocktail bars, there is a truly atmospheric feel to Tarifa during the day and at night. The old town is a labyrinth of restaurants and bars which will welcome you in.Recommended Restaurant in Tarifa - there are many restaurants in Tarifa and the surrounding area, these are some of our favourites; Mandragora - Tarifa Restaurant Calle Independencia 3 11380 Tarifa Cadiz Excellent Moroccan food with hints of Spanish. Always very busy, but they do not take reservations, so need to get there before 9pm. The stuffed Moroccan bread is delicious, as is pulpo with garlic and chilli and they serve excellent falafels. Mediterranea - Tarifa Restaurant Plaza St Martin, S/N 11380 Tarifa Cadiz Freshly cooked Italian food by a woman from Naples and her husband. The anti pasta starter is a must, roasted vegetables with fresh oregano, basil and chilli. To follow a simple Pomodora sauce with shredded basil is delicious. Everything is cooked to order in a tiny kitchen, but it’s worth the wait. El Otro Melli - Tarifa Restaurant Plaza St Martin, S/N 11380 Tarifa Cadiz Recently opened by the same people as Los Melli but with a different menu. Already extremely popular, they serve wonderful artichokes in Pedro Jiminez, melt in your mouth Secreto Iberico and tender octopus with paprika. It opens in the evenings and Sunday afternoons, is always very busy so get there a little earlier to secure a table. La Pescaderia - Tarifa Seafood Restaurant Paseo La Alameda, S/N 11380 Tarifa Cadiz All types of seafood cooked in all different ways. Fresh fish and seafood and excellent rice dishes. This is more of a three course place rather than a casual lunch spot. Juan Luis - traditional Tarifa restaurant Calle San Francisco, 15 11380 Tarifa Cadiz Noted for its speciality in pork dishes. You enter through a tiny wooden door and go on a culinary journey. There is no menu. Spaniards travel to eat here. Vaca Loca - Tarifa Restaurant Calle Cervantes, 6 11380 Tarifa Cadiz Sit outside in the heart of the old town and enjoy freshly barbecued meat of all varieties with crispy salad and fries/baked potato. The fillet steaks are enormous and the secreto Iberico is a local delicacy. |
Restaurants & Tapas Bars TarifaWith the large selection of tapas bars and restaurants available in Tarifa, particularly in the old town, you will be able to experience many traditional Andalucian delicacies as well as enjoying some of the best cocktails around. Here are some more of our favourite Restaurants and Tapas Bars in Tarifa - Bar El Frances - Tarifa Restaurant & Bar Calle de Sancho IV ‘El Bravo’ 11380 Tarifa Cadiz A tiny bar where you eat Spanish tapas cooked by a Frenchman. It is popular with the locals and is a very cheap way of eating with a group of friends. Dishes such as Atun a la Plancha, Carne con Tomate, Ensalada de Patatas and Albondigas, are always good. You either eat at tables on the street or squeeze in with the locals to stand at the bar. Los Melli - Tarifa Tapas Bar & Restaurant Calle Guzman El Bueno, 16 11380 Tarifa Cadiz Los Melli in Spanish means "the twins" and the twin brothers running this place look absolutely identical and produce some of the best tapas in town. People queue to eat here in the summer.
